More photos from our Easter Holiday early April in 1969.

Isambard Kingdom Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge across the Avon Gorge, Bristol.

Bishop's Palace Moat at Wells Cathedral, Wells.

When I was a child, my Great Aunt Cranky travelled all over the world, she was a prolific postcard sender and we loved receiving them and learning about the world.  I've copied a couple of her postcards below.
Salamander Cafe, Bath.  24/6/1957
Dear Pen,
These swans are just a little way from our hotel at Wells.  Coming to bath today, we passed through towns with the oddest names such as Stoke-under-Ham, Midsomer-Norton, Stretton-on-Fosse and Peasedown St John & Combe Hay.
Lots of love, Nan (aka Cranky)
Salamander Cafe, Bath.  24th June 1957
Dear Merry, (my sister)
The swans were so greedy, pulling the bell rope all the day, now the rope is only let down to where they can reach it twice a day.  They have learnt which are the times to swim in that part of the moat.
Lots of love, Nan

Longleat House, Warminster, Wiltshire.  Looking at Longleat via Google Earth it looks as though it's  grown and grown, it looks especially beautiful now, I love the look of all the Mazes, we loved a good Maze.

They've moved a wall or is it a hedge that went down the the water on  the left.
Is that someone dressed in Costume?  or is it a ghost, it isn't there in the next Goggle shot.

Longleat Zoo.
I get the feeling this Lion was looking at me!  or maybe he was just admiring our Taxi :-)
